THURSDAY NIGHT is music night!

Truckstop Honeymoon

Truckstop Honeymoon 1.png

Hollering with all their hearts over a five string banjo and a doghouse bass, Truckstop Honeymoon kick off Mini Mach about the life they sing about. Touring across three continents with four kids and a truck load of songs, Katie and Mike West tell stories about the strangeness of everyday life. Their music combines elements of bluegrass, music hall jazz, and straight up rock’n’roll. They have released nine albums and a full length documentary film, produced over two hundred albums for other artists and have received awards for Lifetime Achievements in the Arts. Welcome to Mini Mach!

Washboard remonstrators

Mach3_1090553.jpg

They've never missed a Mini Mach all the way from day 1 and they are back again - due to huge demand....The Washboard Resonators .

They hail from Leeds in England and can be described as sounding and looking like ‘a ragtime street band meets a Hollywood musical on a theatre stage somewhere in around 1932’.

Their favourite performers include the jazz, ragtime, hokum, blues, comedy and vaudeville sounds of Louis Armstrong, Blind Boy Fuller, Fred Astaire, The Washboard Rhythm Kings, Robert Johnson, Gene Krupa, Max Miller, and more.
The spirit of these long gone artists and their music is summoned back to life every time Martyn and Jack take the stage with their mixture of old traditional songs and new songs written by the band.

TOTAL CHAOS

Total Chaos.jpg

Total Chaos, we've had them play before and they went down so well, we had to have them back. Total Chaos is a rock band that are well known on the festival circuit. The four members of this popular band have been playing rock together for over thirty years. Aziz Ibrahim (guitar), Phil Beaumont (drums), Paul Sturman (vocals) and Mike Edwards (bass) perform a mixture of original songs as well as covers of rock standards. Paul’s strong vocals coupled with Aziz’s stunning guitar playing is supported by the powerful rhythm sections of drums and bass. We promise that you will not be disappointed by their performance, this band gives 110%.

aziz ibrahim

Aziz-Ur-Rahman Ibrahim is a British musician. If I say he is one of the finest guitarists in the UK, I would be under estimating his abilities. MACH is about finding unique musical talent, a festival unlike any other in the motorbike calendar and Aziz, is exactly that. Born in Longsight, Manchester to Pakistani parents he is best known for his work as guitarist with Simply RedThe Stone Roses and their former vocalist Ian Brown in whose band he regularly performed – both in the studio and live. He is also a member of the H Band with Marillion's lead singer Steve Hogarth and is involved in the writing of the second H Band album. He has also worked with Paul Weller, Steven Wilson and Asia. Aziz is rknown in the music industry as one of the finest solo guitarists of his generation with special reference to his experimental work.

Seamus o'blivion and the megadeath morrismen

It's a bit of a nostalgic revival for all of us at Mach because in year 1 - quite some time ago - these guys turned ujp and they were a scream. Mick and his gang will entertain you like no other - have a lot of fun.

What they say

"Our Mission is quite simply to make people dance and laugh! If you leave a Shamus gig dripping in sweat & a huge grin on your face we consider it job done!"

CODA - Led Zepplin Tribute Band

CODA - a Tribute to Led Zeppelin are Europe's most authentic and exciting Led Zeppelin tribute band, replicating the sounds and sights of a typical Led Zep show like no other Zeppelin tribute band in the UK. They are the only proper four-piece Led Zeppelin tribute band in Europe that looks and sounds as close to Led Zeppelin as possible, featuring authentic-looking and sounding instruments as well as incredible, hand-made replica costumes that will take you back to the time when the Gods of ROCK ruled the world!

Did you know ...
Robert Plant wrote "Stairway to heaven" in machynlleth

and so is Saturday NIGHT ...

dorchester duo

A perennial act at the Mach festivals. Professional musicians Charlie James (guitar) and Sharon Chloe (violin) formed The Dorchester Duo in 2008 after meeting at a live music event; one of our first performances was in the stunning Dorchester Abbey in Oxfordshire – hence the name – and in the intervening years we’ve gone on to perform at festivals, concerts, corporate events, private parties and weddings throughout the UK.  Classically trained, we share a love of all genres of music, combining classical pieces with rock and heavy metal, and our repertoire includes songs by Metallica, The Manic Street Preachers, U2, Shinedown, Led Zeppelin and others, which adapt well to violin and guitar.  We perform on electro-acoustic instruments which enable the unique sonorous beauty of the violin and guitar to be heard at an arena-sized volume!

Company of strangers

Company of Strangers.webp

Company of Strangers are new to MACH. Thought we needed a bit of classic rock cover material for our 'Biker' audience and this band, made up of five very experienced musicians were formed in 2016 and consists of lead guitarists, Mick Walsh and Steve Taylor, bassist, Tony Cooper, drummer Ian Fletcher and Emmylou Adshead on Vocals.  Welcome to MACH!

No mean biscuit

This sexteplet came to my attention last summer by very good recommendation. Jazz standards are a love of the band; think Cole Porter and Gershwin, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole and Billie Holiday. The twist comes with them being played in Latin or Bossa style. Special interest was how Louise, the band's lead vocalist, has a love of Amy Winehouse and Paloma Faith, as many of us have. Along with Rob on guitar, Ian on bass, two Barry's on sax and drums and James on piano. First time to Mach. Bring it on!

billy thompson gypsy style

There are very good bike festivals out there but I guarantee you, MACH has the best music (we also have the best kitchen, best serving ladies and the best beer and cocktails...but I digress, oh, and the best ride-outs!) But here we have something very special. After reaching the final of the Young Jazz Musician of the Year competitions in both ‘96 & ’98, Billy became an integral member of seminal English Jazz/Rock outfit Barbara Thompson’s Paraphernalia with Jon Hiseman on drums. Billy has headlined twice at Ronnie Scott’s with Paraphernalia and toured Europe extensively featuring on 5 albums. 2008 also saw a tour of Japan with these incredible musicians. Comprising of Billy on Violin, Ivor Aldred on harmonica, Neil Browning guitar and accordian, Eryl Jones on guitar, mandolin and vocals and Greg Robley on bass, the Billy Thompson Band are thought of locally as being the foremost gypsy swing band in Wales, if not the UK. Having first performed at Mach 1 and after a 5 year break, it's a huge pleasure to have them back at BIG Mach.

circus of horrors

Circus of Horrors logo 2.jpg

Over the past few years Dr Haze and his Circus of Horrors have toured Poland, Germany, Ireland, Belgium, Italy, Holland  & the UK, in addition to appearances at major festivals such as Download, where they were 2nd in the 'not to be missed' listings behind Guns & Roses & ahead of Marilyn Manson and Ozzy Osbourne. They have performed gigs that have attracted over 100,000 people, and that is in just one month! Now, for the second year they are at Mini MACH. I am SO excited. They will be performing their brand new show called "The Witch" not for the squeamish - but bold, brave and beautifully performed, so look away, if you dare - gentle warning, nudity and naughtiness absolutely wonderful!
