This is a long shot, but what a way to try and get the legendary Robert Plant back to Machynlleth, the town where he wrote one of the finest songs ever written; 'Stairway to Heaven.'
“In the days when I first starting performing around the Black Country, it was very evident that each area was its’ own community/little town … and each community had its own venue: Dudley Town Hall, Stourbridge Town Hall, Regis Hall, Brierley Hill Civic, Old Hill Plaza, Tipton Baths, Queen Mary Ballroom,” Plant said in an interview with Dudley News earlier this month. “I played them all, mostly as a kid opening for the likes of the Hollies, Jean Vincent, Screaming Lord Such, the Fourmost … and others. So, with our band, Saving Grace, it’s for me a bit of a reminiscence to play the various communities from where we all hail.”

After reaching the final of the Young Jazz Musician of the Year competitions in both ‘96 & ’98, Billy became an integral member of seminal English Jazz/Rock outfit Barbara Thompson’s Paraphernalia with Jon Hiseman on drums. Billy has headlined twice at Ronnie Scott’s with Paraphernalia and toured Europe extensively featuring on 5 albums. 2008 also saw a tour of Japan with these incredible musicians. It will be a treat to see him take centre stage - Tom Hill, basses; Al Gurr, piano; Andy Shillingford, sax; Carl Hemmingsley, drums.
Professional musicians Charlie James (guitar) and Sharon Chloe (violin) formed The Dorchester Duo in 2008 after meeting at a live music event; one of our first performances was in the stunning Dorchester Abbey in Oxfordshire – hence the name – and in the intervening years we’ve gone on to perform at festivals, concerts, corporate events, private parties and weddings throughout the UK. Classically trained, we share a love of all genres of music, combining classical pieces with rock and heavy metal, and our repertoire includes songs by Metallica, The Manic Street Preachers, U2, Shinedown, Led Zeppelin and others, which adapt well to violin and guitar. We perform on electro-acoustic instruments which enable the unique sonorous beauty of the violin and guitar to be heard at an arena-sized volume!
